LSVTEC
starting a build on a lsvtec. can yall help me out on what internals and such to use? im using a GSR block but thats about all i have and know to use, can i get some advice on what pistons, crank, head and everything to use? THANKS!!
is this another troll post?
do you even know what ls/vtec is? this will probably blow your mind but ls vtec comes from using a non vtec block and a vtec head.. most commonly an ls, b18a/b or a b20 block. (holy **** i know right) a gsr is a vtec block
i'd start here
google.com
then maybe move on to here

hey, simmer the **** down.
lsvtec in all of its technical glory is ls block with vtec head. but mr. dick in my ***, it's also reffered to 60% of the time as just about any b18 block with vtec head. I think a better term you should use is Frankenstein. don't try to come at me either k? I build my LSV running a GSR block got stupid amounts of compliments on building my LSVTEC that way because good power of ls block. FWM. so chill the hell out bro.

A block does not produce power, what is inside and surrounding it does.
Your whole post is an abortion. Give up. Online tommy tough **** w/ the GSR or LS block I can't make up my mind which one I have in my car because I'm lying and don't really have one.

what is even going on in this post?
idk what you honda newbs are up to calling vtec engines lsv but apparently **** is changing... I'm just trying to understand the concept.
so if i put an ls oil cap on a b18c that makes it LSV right?
bottom line is, if you dont need to add a line externally from the block to get oil to the head, its not lsv. always been that way always will be.
I thought that any b18 block with a b16 vtec is a lsvtec. I'm new to this so please don't be a dick. lol.
Anyways I bought a complete b18c1 block and I want to rebuild it and I want all the parts to be factory minus the intake mani and header.
Should I use the gsr pistons and rods or b16 pistons and rods? which one is better?
Will b20 crank fit in a gsr block?
I want to use the better factory parts for this gsr block.
Thanks for the help.

Correct always match the crank with rods.
If u goin with ls/b20 crank make sure u shot peen the rods to make it stronger for higher rev, but I never shotpeened my rods and rev to 8500rpm with no problem, some people recommends it. Also get arp rod bolts and arp studs.
And u might have to get oil squirters plug to plug up cause the counterweights on the ls/b20 crank will hit the oil squirters. Oil squirter plug only $10-$13

Also u know when done all of this your gonna need a tune? Lots of $$$$ goes into lsv/b20v to make reliable
Acl bearings or oem bearings, clevite bearings, king bearing are good, ( I like acl and oem bearings best ) either way u go just make sure ur bearing clearance are good.
Rings I used Nippon rings just clean the rings with scotch brite for smooth edges ( as well as the bearings! ) and measure ur clearance or shave down rings if not within specs.
And get new gsr/type r oil pump, water pump, timing belt and tensioner, golden eagle oil plug kit, headgasket, all new bottom end to top end gasket set, chip ecu with hondata s300v2 etc etc...
Not cheap bro.
Its going be daily driven. I know that after the engine is done it will get a tune.
Alright I'm gonna write this down and lol don't worry I got money. It might be done during summer or later i'm not in a hurry.
I want everything to be good and reliable.

Bearings: OEM
Rings: OEM or Nippon not sure yet
arp studs
oil squirters plug or golden eagle oil plug kit. Isnt that the same thing
new gsr water pump and oil pump
timing belt size not sure because i'm doing b16 head and not sure what kind of cams.
tensioner
