Default Mystery waterpump

My son bought a 91 accord (F22A4) with 260k miles on it about a month ago and soon found out why they sold it. First it didn't pass emissions so we put a new O2 sensor in that fixed the problem.

The car started overheating so we decided to flush the cooling system. During the flush I noticed foam in the coolant. To make a long story short the head gasket was shot. The flush must have washed away the stop leak they put in the engine. I was going to get the car towed to the junk yard but my son was devastated and his friends offered to do the labor.

His friends pulled the head off. A couple of the head bolts were so tight they broke a regular socket. I went out and bought a set of craftsman impact sockets and we got the head off. The machine shop said the head wasn't bad and only off by .005. The marks on the head clearly showed where the leak was. They installed new valve guides and made it look like a piece of art. It looks to me that the person that put the engine together last missed the class on using a torque wrench.

I bought all new belts, timing belt, tensioners and a water pump.

His friends came back and while they were doing the timing belt they pulled out what they said was a water pump that looked nothing like the one we bought so they put it back in. They said that one of the 3 bolts holding the waterpump in was stripped so they threaded a larger bolt in with gasket sealer.

Once the car was together it started right up but it was leaking coolant by the pump. The guys said that there were 2 holes that were exposed where the coolant was coming from down by the water pump. They proceeded to jam a couple of bolts in the holes with permatex and the leak stopped. We proceeded to flush out the engine and put in new antifreeze. The engine warmed up fine and hasn't leaked.

I looked in the manual and on the internet and all the water pumps I saw for this engine were like the one I was sent but didn't install. I sent this picture to the company I bought the pump from and they don't have a clue. I'm not familiar with this engine so I was wondering if anyone can identify the mystery water pump. I'm thinking that the butcher that worked on the car before found some kind of pump that fit and just somehow made it work or someone is playing a trick on us.

The reason the car isn't on the road is because when we were doing the engine we discovered that both of the "special" bolts on the drivers side holding the front crossmember on were missing. We went to Honda and they told us that they don't make them anymore. Does anyone know if there is a place to get them. Otherwise I can go to a junk yard.

That actually isn't the oil pump. That is what makes the balance shaft inside the motor spin opposite of the crankshaft. The oil pump is directly off of the crankshaft inside the motor (and can be seen underneath the piece you have pictured, although the literal pump assembly can not be seen. Just the cover).

the first pump is the correct water pump for the car. like NZXTInerTia said, the second "pump" is actually the balance shaft gear housing which sits directly below the waterpump.
