Newbie to Hondas
Just purchased my first Honda earlier this year, and '01 CR-V. Prior Ford and Chevy owner, but had to sell the latest one (Mustang) in order to have something more reliable and family friendly (and automatic for the wifey). I discovered after a few months of owning the 'V, my #2 valve was burnt, and after a near $1200 head rebuild I discovered the #2 piston ring was bad as well, so JDM swap was the cheaper option than rebuilding the bottom end as well. I joined Honda-Tech to learn more about Hondas in general, to sell my parts, and for future opportunities to conduct business with other members. Being a full time student running on what's left of my GI Bill, full time employee by night, and a father of a 1 year old, needless to say I am quite busy and in a pinch for money. Thanks to the lack of maintenance by the prior owners, I learned a great deal about my Honda and I take that as a positive. I look forward to getting several hundred thousand miles out of the little SUV and will definitely use this site to ensure the 'V makes it that far. I'm located about 40 miles west of Atlanta Georgia, and lived north of Chicago and in San Diego for a few years while in the Navy. I'll be glad to help anyone with the little I know, and with the knowledge I'll gain through the years as an owner. -Chris
