Default i want eg

i have an EF and i think its a very cool car! but i want something newer and more refined. integras are too much. and all your guys eg's are lookin soo good! i really want one now. i have a turbo ready to be put on a car and i dont really want it on my car i guess. i want it on an EG with sohc vtec. i know i can swap heads on my car but i want the EG look. so how much would i be looking at? could i get an EX or Si for $2,500 or less. could i find one for this? year doesnt matter. probably 1992 would be the cheapest. thanks! also, could someone post a pic up of their gauges? TIA

Slowman,
Depends where you live,
If you are in souther california you will be paying alot more than someone out in BFE. Also, it depends i've seen lowered SI HBs running for 3500, and ive seen stock HB's running for the same price. The question is, do you want to buy it from a kid, or do you want to buy it from someone who would have probably taken great care of it.
I paid 3000, and i've had numerous people tell me that my car is clean for 3000.
Its a 1994 CX
Id personally only get a CX or VX model. They are fun cars, in the rain they are scary little cars haha

ya its real, i can hook it up the wiring diagrams if you want to do it... all you need is 96+ cluster pigtails... and if u send thel front half of an eg cluster and any 96+ civic cluster i will make the magic happen for free, that is if you pay for shipping both ways

VX = VTEC-E, so its pre-wired for VTEC, and it gets good gas mileage (40-45ish), comes w/an EX front lip, Tach, and 13" VX wheels instead of steelies..

Try to find a 92 CX, DX if you want the luxury of having VTEC in the wiring harness already...

Their is no EX in a EG, their is only Si, and the US eg never came factory with the lip, only the EJ "coupe" did..

i think he meant to say, if you want the vtec harness, not to find a dx, cx... only Si and VX can prewired, ALSO i understand EVERY 92 civic came pre-wired for vtec.. someone correct me if i am wrong

!!!!!! didnt see that he put 92 in his sentence!!!!!!!!! my bad

You sure? The VX's I see running around here (stock, mind you) all have OEM lips.

if you went with a 92 cx or dx, i believe you still need a VTEC engine wiring harness, i believe it is only the Dash harness that runs through the whole car and to the ECM that is prewired in 92, dont know for sure

1550 posts and you do not know which model 1992-1995 civic HB is the best platform. *disappointed*
CX- 2108lbs
VX- 2094 Si (2390lbs)
VX has 9.75 lbs rims compared to the heavier CX steelies.
VX gets more like ~47city/52highway (MPG)
CX i believe get 42/46
Eitherway you said you wanted SOHC VTEC in an EG. Get a CX or VX put in the d16z6 and you will have a light, d16z6 powered EG.

Get your facts straight. You are correct in saying that there is no EG EX in the U.S.

But the U.S. Si is not an EG, either.

The 92-95 Si is NOT an EG, it's an EH3
The 93-95 EJ two door came with the lip stock.
The 1992-1995 EH2 VX came with the lip stock as well.
The 1992-1995 LX or DX 4 door is an EG8, but did not come with lip stock
The 1992-1995 EX 4 door is an EH9, but did not come with the lip on the four door
The 1992-1995 EX 2 door had the lip, and I believe the chassis code is an EJ1, but I don't have a Helms for that model

Honda-Tech chassis code ****'s unite!
