Default Neptune RTP Question

I already have a OBD1 ecu with a Neptune chip. I know I can purchase RTP from a dealer but can I buy it off a guy from craigslist who has it already in his ecu? Is there licensing issues that I will see with that or can I just put the RTP in my ecu and drop a program in that my tuner has saved?

The neptune software automatically looks up the serial needed for the rtp now, so you should be able to just drop it in and load the map onto it. Ive used 3 different laptops with mine and never had an issue.

I didn't ask who was better. That is probably discussed a thousand times elsewhere. HRTuning replied back with an emailing saying I can buy a used Neptune RTP. Question answered. Thanks everyone.
