Sputter after heavy part throttle!?!
I have been driving my car like this for a while and it does ok for the most part because I've learned to live with it.
So while cruising if I ever need to put my foot into the gas enough to merge the car will get a bogged down feeling and wont' downshift easily. After this occurs the car will cruise at highway speeds and sputter (surge might be a better word for it). The only way to stop this is to cut the engine and restart it. Sometimes I get an OBD1 O2 sensor code but I have swapped O2 sensors before and this did not fix it.

I'm on my 3rd different O2 sensor,
I've changed plugs and I believe I gapped the plugs to specs. It may be something I check again though.
