Default Main Relay Issue

I have a 91 crx Dx, which has a b16a I swapped in a few weeks ago, it had a d16a6 in it previously. I think my main relay is starting to go bad. On a hot day I would go out to start the car, turn the key to the on position, the cel would come on for roughly three seconds then shut off, which is normal while the fuel pump primes. Except, some times the fuel pump doesn't prime, when it doesn't prime, I don't hear the click under the dash when the fuel pump finishes priming. This issue started when I still had the d16 in the car. It's currently throwing a code 9 for a tdc sensor (bad connection to ecu).

Where is the main relay, how do I check to see if it is bad?

It's sort of by the hood release. You can try and check the solder connections or just replace it to see if it fixes your problem. There is a way to test the voltage and such for the fuel pump to see if the relay is actually the problem. It's a tad complicated in my opinion, but you can go that route too. May just be a loose connection.

I'll try to find it today, and I'll order the part tomorrow. Thank you.

High jacking a thread? Start your own thread, post pictures and definitely include some more detail than that. You probably wired the distributor wrong.

Thread jack for sure but, there should be two white wires for your dizzy, you might have them crossed. Switch them around and try to start it.

His car was running though. It wouldn't even start if he did this.

I know it wouldn't start. I don't think he mentioned it was running before.

There was a couple things that made me think it was running. Such as having this issue with the D16A6 too. So did the D16 start and run? Have you tried to start the B16? Does it turn over?

Oh, we both got a little confused. I was replying earlier to the thread jacker about the white wires. He has a crx si with a b16.

My crx Dx with b16a is fine. Except for the main relay cutting out intermittently. I did order a new main relay today. Should be here next week.

The d16 I had in it before ran fine except for the main relay not working properly when i would leave the car in a hot parking lot. I would have to and still do have to turn the key a few times when it doesnt want to work.
