My 97 Accord LX mild dd build thread
Just joined the site. I'm a big forum fan and like to chronicle my builds. I've been a domestic muscle car guy for the longest time, but I finally decided to give Honda a shot after about a year and a half of consideration.
What I am starting with is a 97 Accord LX 4dr with an f22 and a manual trans. Its got 191k on the clock and still runs great. Came with 17" Drag Alloy DR11 rims and tinted windows, and so far I have done the following:
-Replaced radiator
-Replaced VSS
-Detailed the interior
-Replaced broken interior plastics
Installed Pioneer CD head unit with a Rockford amp and 3 JL 10" subs in a sealed box
-Rebuilt master window switch to restore function
-Replaced dizzy o ring
-Swapped the grill for an EX
The car is going to be a daily driver, but I'm also planning to infuse some personal style and a little performance. Looking forward to taking advantage of the resources the forum has to offer. Stay tuned!

I had a 92 honda accord f22a1 and I loved the car, i'm a big fan of honda's and have been driving one ever since i got my license. I got this car to be my daily driver, but it turned out to be more than that. what i like about F22's is their really good motors, one of the best in my opinion they run forever. I recently purchased a 01 honda civic ex D17 with only 107k and plan on building it and boosting it.
I guess I am not sure where the thread even belongs. Mostly appearance oriented, but I will be doing some performance and definitely maintenance. Just put it where it will be best suited. I have not gotten much photo documentation yet, but here are a couple pics to make it legit.

It is fairly clean. Cigarette burns on seats, clearcoat peeling, and a list of other blems. No rust, though. Did a few interesting things over the weekend. Some will like them, some will not. It's my car and I like what I've done, so that's all that matters. Either way, I'll update with pics and specs later on.

The head unit I swapped in:

Added some 6k HIDs(but I will be retrofitting the lights with projectors)

I know I'll catch hell for this one but I did the roof, trunk, and hood in roll on bedliner. Like I stated, this is low budget and I already had it in the garage. Looks decent in my opinion, and it took care of the clear coat nonsense. Oh yeah, painted the emblems red:

I decided to try working with the original headlights and corners. I needed to replace one of the corner lights, so I ordered a stock replacement and modified the good one. When the junk yard told me their lens was no good, I said eff it and ordered all amber aftermarket replacements. For headlight restoration, I wet sanded/polished/coated with UV urethane sealant.

I think it's going in a good direction. Fits my taste.
