Default Tire Went Out..A second time, help?

Okay, my front passenger side tire has gone out again like this:

This is the second it happened, the first time was bound to happen because the tires had no thread on it what so ever but these tires now has a good amount of thread but they have been sitting in my backyard for awhile on my parts car. Also, the front passenger side wheel is bent in due to an accident, im going to get new tires and go to alignment and see if they can tell me whats bent, until then any suggestions and help? Thanks in advance!

Doesn't look like your alignment is too far out. It is, but just looks like your tires were not good. If you look at the right side of your photo, the grove in between the tread has the horizontal wear markers. Based off the wear markers the right side actually is at the point were you should have replaced it. The left side is at the point were you have to have be suicidal to drive on. You are pass the rubber, the steel mesh, and down the cloth underlining.

Pfft, this guy!

But seriously, that doesn't look like a wheel I'd drive on. Not saying I haven't before, but I wouldn't these days. How long did you ride on these tires? Definitely get the $50 alignment from somewhere. And check tirerack for some new wheels. Get some that are being discountinued for like $40 each.

As someone working as a service writer at a tire store, people who let their tires like this drive me nuts. Especially when they wonder wtf happened, after being in a wreck.. Get a free alignment check, replace bent suspension parts, replace wheel, replace tire. Problem solved.

Like two weeks but I stopped as soon as my car started shaking. I haven't drove it in awhile.

Sorry about that aha, but yeah, I stopped driving as soon as I felt my car acting crazy.

No problem man, just keep in mind your tires are the only thing on the car in contact with the road. Brakes and Tires are two things you cant mess around with, safety first. Check your tires and brakes weekly.

dont you have parents that can help you maintain your car?

you should tell them the car needs attention and have them send it to a mechanic.

your car is really out of shape.

Can't agree with this any more. That tire is a danger to yourself and any other driver on the road. Bald, dry-rotted, and/or old tires are nothing to mess with, and it looks like you will need a set of new tires, one replacement wheel, and a proper alignment.

Another thing to check is lug nut torque if you're taking wheels off/putting them on. Most mechanics will do this for you, but mistakes happen. You don't want a wheel falling off while you drive.

If you're looking for a good deal on tires, discounttire and eBay have a promo going on right now, free shipping on tires and $50 off a set of tires that cost $250 or more. I just picked up a new set of Hankooks for $218 shipped.

As fun as it may be to drive your car, putting yourself (and others) in danger isn't worth it. Saving a couple of bucks by running a bent rim and used tire isn't worth it either. Best of luck and get that tire replaced before getting back on the road!

That's a good deal going on right there. I have a set of back up rims and tires sitting under a tarp just in case I need them or someone I know needs them. No reason not to have tires in good shape. It really is the only piece of your car that is in contact with the road.

Here's another one of my nearly useless stories. I replaced my brake pads and therefore was putting my wheel back on one day. I decided to go for a test drive. Somehow my lug nuts weren't quite on right. Two of them came off, they were not across from each other. The wheel bent to the side. Bent the rim while I was drive. Pulled off the road as safely as I could. I had 3 wheels on the ground and then a wheel 90 degrees to the side held on by two lug nuts. It was a bad day. I replaced the wheel and it didn't damage the drum somehow. Lucky for me if was the rear tire.

Another story about brakes. Same car by the way. I was doing 55 or so down the highway when I heard something pop, thought I hit a rock. It was actually one of my drums cracking the entire way around it. Literally cut the drum in half. Never seen anything like it. Needless to say my car did not stop when I hit the brakes. Three hours at 12 mph using nothing but 1st gear as a brake and I made it home. That was very sketchy.

Don't mess with your wheels or brakes. Definitely take care of them. But no matter what, accidents do happen. Then again, my car was 40 years old when this happened to me.

Yeah but they're busy, it was different when my brother and cousin use to live here. My car really isn't out of shape, just the tires. And we don't have money like that to send it to a mechanic so I just gotta wait.

How would that sales pitch go? "Even after years of abuse and the tread completely gone, our tires keep going!" I think it would be entirely ironic for a tire company to brag about how crappy they can look and keep going.

Get new wheels OP! Nuff said.
