Icon2 b16a (sir2 version) swap help

I have a 94 civic ex. It already had a b16a2 with hydro trans swapped in it when I bought it. I have a wrecked 91 crx si with a b16a (sir2 5*** code) with cable trans. the crx ran 11s before I was hit by a drunk, but luckily the engine and trans were untouched. I have both engines, trans, clutch pulled out and sitting on dollies still together. Ive never done a swap before, so I have 2 mechanic friends helping me. they are both good mechanics, but they don't know b16s. they want to use the b16a block, with the intake/fuel bar from the b16a2, and the hydro trans. will this work and wire up easy? any insight on the easiest and cheapest solution?

basccially you just take the b16a motor and bolt it to your hydro tanny and put it back in to your car, the wiring harness should be used from the 94 civic that had the b16a2 motor in it... al your doing is swaping out the motor of one and putting it into the others place... you just need to use the hydro trans... unless you want to swap the cable in but reqires more parts and which are not cheap compared just to use your hydro...

the crx was put together by a custom shop. they must of had a lot of extra b16a parts, because the block is a 2nd gen sir, the intake and head look like first gen, so they had the harness for the easy mate up to the crx harnesses. there was also only one 1 wire o2 sensor. I would need the intake off the b16a2 to have the correct plug and play. I know the cable trans is geared really well, I think that may be part of why the crx was 11s. what extras would be needed to keep the cable other cutting into the firewall? if its too much I will just use the hydro. the ecu with the b16a2 is a p28. the crx has a spoon ecu . is it recommended to swith the ecu that was with the b16a with a harness converter, or just use the p28 that is already in the civic, or get a new one? or do all work?

Use your:
Trans
Wiring harness
intake
distributor
o2 sensor

Use crx:
Block
head
exhaust (if its better, im guessing it is)

Sell the cable transmission and put it towards upgrading yours

What ecu do you have? What ecu is in the crx?

The one in the crx might be OBD-0, which wouldnt work with your setup.

ill be trying to put this together in the morning. that is what we were thinking for the first attempt. the exhaust is better on the civic, just replaced the header and cat and o2 sen. the crx has 37820-pw0-000. the civic has a 37820-p28-a02(no code light that I could see), ive been driving the civic with the b16a2 for a few years, and it never really ran like it should. sometimes there was a hesitation in first gear, and sometimes on start up it wouldn't hold an idle. it would rev between 500-2000 rpm. also the car clock and radio would reset every startup. when driving high rpm it ran good. I just want to get this together and have it run like it should. the clutch went and I figured why not try to do the swap, plus I wanted the crx out of my garage. THANK YOU for responding

after getting both trans apart, the splines are different od sizes(~.035 bigger on the hydro) and different lengths(~.25 shorter on the hydro). we are going to try to figure that out tomorrow.

when I switched the intake and distributer from the b16a2 to the b16a I noticed that the rotor position was 112 degrees different on what direction they were pointing. will this matter? if so how do I fix it?
