Rock auto purchase timing belt set dayco
Not sure if anybody has done this but I figured I'd post this because I decided to go affordable on my timing belt/water pump assembly, the current belt has about 120,000 on it and the pump/tensioner is at 220k. I am stuck with what I have and hopefully it doesn't fail the next 100k miles but if it does I'll let you guys know.
This is the rockauto kit "DAYCO Part # WP224K1B Water Pump Driven by Timing Belt, Interference Engine; Water Pump, Timing Belt, Camshaft Belt Tensioner"

I thought I was getting a dayco water pump, instead I recieved a GMB made in china, the belt (made in italy) and tensioner (made in japan) are dayco. I don't race my car like a lot of people whom probably have gmb pump failures/issues so maybe I'll be okay. I just wanted to share this info to prevent anybody else from thinking they are getting a "Dayco" kit.

It's a shame they put a china pump in with that kit. Make sure to replace that pump when you do the t-belt again. I've heard they rust out in 40,000 miles with 50/50 mix. Try to use distilled water if you mix your own coolant. It's $1 or less at Walmart.
