I am looking to go with full coilovers on my EG (93cx) h/b. I mean GC / Bilstein set-up ran me close to $700, so I might as well get the real deal for a few hundred more. So, what full coilovers should I look into for no more than $1,000?
I am not into autocrossing. I will have a B18C1 in the bay for drag racing every now and then
What I've owned so far:
On my 98 Civic LX
Neuspeed sport springs / Bilstein HD shocks / skunk2 camber kit
--Pros: Great ride. As smooth or possibly even smoother than stock. Cornered pretty good
--Cons: Uneven drop sucked *****!!! Got tired of the, "is it lowered" Q's!
What I roll now:
Ground Control coilovers / Bilstein HD shocks / skunk2 camber kit
--Pros: Ride height is adjustable (**to a certain extent). Corners like a champ
--Cons: Rides 10X worst than the combo above. Had to modify the HD's to get the GC's to work. I had to cut the bump stop down a lot and also remove 80-90% of the dust boot cover.
**What I mean by "to a certain extent"... I have the car lowered about 2.5 - 2.75" and I there is about another 3" left on the threads to go lower. The problem is that at the height I am now the Bilsteins are compressed a good bit, hense the reason you have to cut the bump stops with this combo. I probably could go another inch lower but then the shock would probably be ALL the way compressed and any lower would not go any lower because the car would just sit on a compressed shock. Make any sense? If not, I'll re-word or add to this.
Does anyone know if true coilovers have this problem or can they be lowered all the way down with NO problems? I don't even think I would lower them all the way down, unless maybe at a show. I will probably ride with it dropped the same as my LX ---> 2.75"
Thanks!

Yes and No, most all true coilovers, have oil dampners so that you can never compress the shock, its even pressure on both sides of the valve, so if you wanted to go a cheaper route just get some koni to replace the blistiens, but i guess Yes you can drop true coils further that what you can drop your set-up now, hope that helps?>

I have mine all the way down to the last threads, it rides just as well as it did when I had them all the way up.
