I'm new to Honda tuning...got tips?

Thinking about getting a EG or EK hatchback ex model. Want to make the little D16 in it to rev happily and reliably and have plenty of zip. Won't be a car to race, just to get me around and have a little fun. Any help is appreciated! Parts list would be great too
