Before I have to put on a flameproof suit. This is just due to a snafu! So, I have made many posts on here about what I am doing with my car. The time has come, where she has finally started for the first time after alot of work. Between three of us messing with the car, trying to find out why we have to push button start the car. Damn thing wont start with the key. We checked over the timing several times, as it kept backfiring. We even changed to one of my spare camshafts, which just so happens to be from an F23ax. My engine is an F22b1. Turns out, that we had spark plug wire 3 and 4 backwards. But, she runs on the f23ax cam. I had no idea that this was possible.

 

An F series SOHC VTEC camshaft will work in an F series SOHC VTEC engine. The firing order is the same, however lift, duration, and overlap will most likely be different.

Dat F23 Vtak yo. Curious to see what the difference is, the VTEC systems are pretty much the same. Unless I don't have my facts straight.
