Default Violent steering wheel shake after replacing ball joints

I needed new ball joints on my 91 Si. Couldn't get the axle nut off to save my life of the drivers side so only did the pass side until this past Sunday. My car has had a slight shake around 55-60 and then again aroung 65. I assumed it was because I drove around without the tires being balanced for awhile. It went away slightly after the pass side ball joint was replaced but now that the drivers side was replaced it shakes even more. It now even shakes on braking from like 60 to turn. I don't know what could be making this happen right after I replace a ball joint. The tie rods are good, tires are good, bushings all good. I don't know where else to look. I would appreciate any direction that I could be pointed. Thanks!!

Have you had the front end up to verify that everything is tight? I replaced my lower balljoints with Oreilleys units. Turns out the new ones have more play than the old rusty ones.

I think that's whats up with my car and the darn outter tie rod I had replaced. This could very well be your culprit.

i found this out the hard way, ball joint actually failed on my car, sometimes it pays to spend that extra 10 bucks to get quality parts!!!, also did you tighten everything back up? how bout those lug nuts torque them back up ?

Everything is tight. I know my tie rods are good too. We checked all of that out when it was in the air. I know the ball joint was good when it was put in and while it was still in the air but not saying it didn't fail immediately once she was actually moving again. I will have to check that out. Any other suggestions just in case?

No. I haven't had it aligned since. I have never had a car aligned after I did ball joints. And I have never had a ball joint actually fail being as I am driving the car still. (It is my only means of transportation.) I'm sorry about your car! That most definitely sucks.

I would check everything to make sure it's tight. I don't think misaligned wheels would cause a severe vibration, but if you didn't get an alignment after all that front end work, I would look into that since it should be done anyways.

Thank you! I will let you know what I find. I will check to make sure everything is tight and get an alignment check.
