F22a4 cam upgrade ecu tuning questions
I have a stage 2 bisimoto cam with the pro valve springs/ titanium retainers an brand new cam gear. I was told that the p06 ecu should be chipped to work with my f series but then someone else argued that I don't have to chip the p06, just simply tune it with my tuning setup (Neptune software/demon hardware from moates.net). What do I do to get this ecu to work in my car?

The stock P06 base maps won't work with your F. anything can be burned onto a chip however. you can start with a F22 basemap and let your tuner sort out the rest on the dyno. this will still require a chip kit installed on the P06. This is what I'm doing with my F22/23 hybrid build. I chipped a P06 and had a custom basemap put on the chip by the guys at Xenocron. it was $30 total. nothing.
The purpose of the basemap as it's name implies is to act as a starting point to work up from. it should allow the engine to start and safely run until everything is dialed in on the dyno.
not sure who told you that, but i would love to hear their explaination for how to tune the P06 ECU without first having it chipped/socketed. I may not be an ECU/tuning expert but I have a working knowledge of what's involved.

if you order the chip from Xenocron you can provide them a list of modifications; cam you're using, injectors, compression, port work, valve work ect. then they can build one based on that. it will still need a tune to get your moneys worth, but it will be even closer than a stock F22 map.
Are you tuning this yourself?
Do you already have the Neptune Demon setup? If you already have Neptune and are planning on doing the tuning yourself. I would start looking for information on how to setup a base vs buying basemaps to start from.
If none of this makes any sense. I would suggest looking up a shop that does tuning in your local area and ask them if they can help you out.

That would only work if they sell Neptune calibration files (basemaps).
You don't buy a blank one.... you really need to slow down and take this back to square one! As soon as you open the tuning software that comes with your Neptune purchase it will be a blank ROM/Tune/basemap for you to start from. No need to buy anything more.
Have you even installed the Neptune tuning software on your laptop?
I'm guessing from your questions that you have not installed the NeptuneRTP software yet. Installing the tuning software and playing around with it would be a start to creating your own calibration.
Do some reading on www.hrtuning.com. He has a lot of information on his site to help get you started. Just a note, the basemaps, tuning maps or ROM/.bin files are known as calibrations or .cal files in the NeptuneRTP/Demon tuning world.

You got it. that's the way she works, pretty easy to get started. Now it's all the fine tuning and small details in the setup that are what you have to focus on now.
One more question
So i started to simply remap my P06 ECU to the F-series basemap.. but the only options on Neptune for remapping the P06 are :
P28 (USDM)
P29 (ADM)
P30 (USDM)
P30 (JDM)
P61 (USDM)
P72 (USDM)
P72 (JDM)
P75 (USDM)
P75 (JDM)
PR3 (JDM)
PR4 (USDM)

Which, if any, should I choose?
