Icon2 2005 civic lx engine in a 2003 honda civic lx?

Hello! Can I put a 2005 Honda civic lx engine into a 2003 Honda civic lx with no issue's?? Direct replacement or are there things I should know first??....

Its a direct replacement. The only difference would be if the original engine doesn't have an EGR. Which you won't have a plug for so, it doesn't matter.

Thank you for the response! it looked a bit different still being in the 05 so its good to know its a direct replacement!

The only year that didn't have an EGR was the 01 DX/LX. Any 02 and up DX/LX will be able to swap any 02-05 d17a1 motor no probs.
