howdy, I recently got a 93 del sol and got it running from sitting for 2 yrs. I did a fuel system flush, a ecu swap, and a full tune up (spark plugs, air filter, fuel filter, etc...)I am now having an issue with it sputtering and a misfire. it started after I stopped and let it sit for 30 minutes. I cranked it up and it was like a loss of power and the check engine light came on. I cut off the car so I could pull the codes on the obd but the light was no longer on when I turned the key. any ideas?

 

ok so I found a bad oil leak in #2 cyl spark plug and a slow leak in #1 & #3 out of the valve cover. fixed that with a gasket set. found a hole in my muffler, gonna get it welded back together bc the seam blew out. sanded my rotor button and distributor cap contacts which seemed to fix the misfire problem. did a oil change and replaced the oily spark plugs while I was under the hood. still sputtering and loss of power. also seems as if running through more fuel than normal. could it possibly b the hole in the muffler?

 

What is an ECU swap?

did you use OEM parts for the tune up?

no the ecu was bad so I swapped it out. it is all still oem

the CEL keeps going off b4 I can get the codes.

 

ok so I checked the cat and it was in ok working condition (a lil clogged) but will b fine for now. put the welded muffler back on. started messing with the intake and vacuum lines, took the pcv valve hose off and covered the tube 3/4 of the way and it straighted up and rev'd fine. seems like the pcv valve got stuck. gonna replace it tomorrow.

Oh... just wanted to say thank unse all for everything. glad someone on here is willing to help other ppl out with suggestions and possible solutions. LMFAO I WISH
