Default rear engine subframe

Vehicle is a 91 si hatch, while removing my engine I notice that where the rear mount bolts to has a dipple In it, and a crack starting to form. All the subframe i found at the junk yard are sedan one with power steering. I check parts number and I found out all the one with a manual rack is the same part number for all three cars. The only part number is different is the one with a power steering rack for the engine subeframe. Do you think its still possible for it to work?

The rear subframe is what you are talking about right? If the geometry is the same it might work. I'm not sure what you are talking about. Could you post a picture?

as long as the vehicle is listed from the non power steering list then it will be compatible.

You can use a power rack subframe if you make a sleeve to fit around the rh end of the non power rack. If you have access to a lathe, turn a piece of aluminum with an OD the same size as the OD of the power rack and an ID same size as the OD of the non power rack .Make the sleeve the same length as the rubber bushing. Cut the sleeve in half lengthwise, hold it in place around the rack with tape ,slide the power rack rubber bush over it and install using the power rack mount strap. I have done this a few times of necessity as non power rack subframes are hard to find

so what you are saying is the non-power rack will fit onto the power rack subframe with an added customized aluminum bushing? this is due to the extra space that is being left by the smaller OD of the non-power rack right?

kinda going on a tangent at this point but is it possible for it to work the other way around like if someone wanted to add a power rack without having to use the power rack subframe? or, will there be a fitment issue on the non-power subframe side not having enough space to accommodate the larger OD of the power rack.

GSR-CRX Yes the bushing takes up the diameter difference in the racks. The subframe for the non power rack is to small to accept a power rack even without a bushing.
