Just recently picked up a skunkworks adjustable cam gear was wondering if I can take my stock cam gear off without removing head

 

What engine?

 

I wasn't aware there was a difference. But on the D-series you can leave the cam in the motor and use an impact gun to take off the nut and remove the gear. I don't think you want to spin it though. It's not hard to remove the cam and leave the rest of the head intact though.
