... can running rich for too long cause problems down the road?...
... when i was all-motor, i ran too rich with a mugen chip for about 2 months... then i finally went to the darkside... but i have been running rich with the fmu for the past 4 months... i know running too lean is really bad... but what about too rich?... lemme know... thanks...

Well i participated in a discusion about this ahile back but i cant find it, so i will explian.
First off, your ignition system is only good for so much, as it can only burn so much fuel. So obviously if you are running rich you are not burning all the fuel that is being placed into the cumbustion chamber. So the spark lights off as much fuel as it can and then the exhaust valve(s) are opened, and the exhaust gas is pushed out. Mind you you still have fuel left in the chamber. So the compression stroke comes around and there is no where for that unburnt fuel to go (and we all know that fluid is not compressable) and while the piston comes up and the pressure in the cylinder does as well, the pressure cant compress the gas so it shoves it between the cylinder wall and the rings. Long term it damages your rings and leads to not only fuel blowby but oil blow by as well. So yeah running rich is bad allso.
