Default CRX EE8 bonet isolation

Hi everyone,
I was wondering if isolation on the bonnet (under the bonnet) is heat isolation or sound isolation on CRX ee8?

If it is sound isolation I'd like to remove it, but if it's not, if it's heat isolation, I'd rahter keep it!

Thanks on answer!

I was that they ares supposed to suppress an engine fire. The plastic tabs melt and that thing falls on the engine.
