Not Boosting after running too rich...?!
Does anybody have any idea of why you would stop boosting after running too rich maybe?
here's the situation. 99 si w/ drag kit. running fine for three some months and then check engine light came on and finally after a week or so started idling funny and came to the point where every stop you make, the car would stale out.
finally saw the problem was primary O2 sensor from computer diagnose and saw that it was caked w/ carbon build up. Seeing that, cleaned the O2 sensor off and we changed the spark plugs too and saw that they were black w/ carbon build up also. after all that, started up the car, everything ok except now it won't boost.
any ideas or suggestions?
thanks for any help at all....

sounds like an exhaust leak...check carefully
are you spooling at all?
Look for the obvious first...not being able to boost usually means
a) not enough exhaust pressure (leaks)
b) leak in somewhere between compressor and throttle-body
Look carefully! I have had some folks swear that they've checked and re-checked, only to find that its something very simple and obvious. Make sure that your WG is down tight, and that the exhaust mani is on tight...using your eyes is sometimes a mistake....use your ears and nose to find small leaks.
Check all your IC pipes carefully! (connectors and clamps etc...)
Finally, if you have done all this and STILL can't find any problems...check the hard stuff..make sure the compressor wheel spins...etc... Let us know what"s up..!Good luck!
