Icon2 Cable clutch issue

hey what's guy I'm having a problem with my cable clutch I have a competition stage 4 clutch with a light flywheel kit all new on a jdm b16 transmission with LSD and my problem is it feels like the clutch isn't engaging at a stand still it goes in ever gear but when I release the clutch just inch off the floor it pulls hard an if I get the car going it feel ruff going into gears..

My thoughts the cable is adjusted to tight!!???
Cable is stretched !???
Or am I using the rite cable and Which one do I Use

can someone shine some light

My 4g4d had the same issue . Came to find out my cable wasnt tight enough . If your familiar with the mechanics of the clutch cable you can check where it attaches to the tranny and make sure there's enough tension on the lever . Too much slack will cause the clutch to not fully disengage . Too much tension and the clutch will not be able to fully engage . This is just wat ive found from playing with the adjusting nut on my cable , but im not 100% sure . Hopefully someone else can back this up or prove me wrong lol

This is a good idea. The clutch cable is probably loose. If you have too much free play in the pedal before the clutch engages, it will disengage very quickly too. Plus, you have a beefed up clutch. They grab a lot quicker. You'll have to get use to that. I have to match my RPMs when I shift with my ACT clutch or it feels like we're running over the neighbor's dog.

Uh. I used the stock bracket and my stock D15 clutch cable. No reason to swap out the cable. And the bracket that came on the B16 tranny would work for this. Not sure why you replaced either of them.

Don't tighten all the way. Yoy have to adjust it to where it feels a little tight then from there you have to test the clutch. The clutch should have an inch of free play before the clutch cable engages the lever to your throwout bearing. So basically when you put your foot on the pedal without pressing down while cruising You should be able to pushi down the clutch pedal about an inch down without doing anything to your clutch engagement. Then after the inch it should engage. So your shift point on the clutch pedal should be a little over halfway from floor to where the pedal isn't depressed. So you will have to keep doing small adjustments then testing the clutch pedal until the desired point. Damn you for making me write this

Forgot to memrion, if your clutch pedal engages the lever near the bottom floor, your cable too loose, if it engages right at the top, you are too tight. You want your vagina just right.

Get the stock cable that came with your car. D15B1 cable will work.

Agree that cable is too long/loose.
D16 Si cable will work too. The LS is probably the right one if you have to swap it.

Lots of people use the SI, but I'm using the 'standard' hatch clutch cable and it works just fine on my B16 with cable trans. Plenty of room to adjust it.

Nice. My clutch cable is pretty tough, but I just think it's the ACT clutch I'm using.
