Icon2 Does installing a NRG steering wheel keep thieves away?

Hi guys, I know integra & civics are really easy to steal. Does installing a NRG steering wheels or keep them away? But I have to sacrifice that OEM stock look

i dont think it will stop them completely, probably just slow them down

unless they bring their own wheel and put it on and drive away

If a thief really wants your car, nothing you can do will stop them.

It gives them another reason to take it.
That actually looks hideous tho sorry

Thieves don't just drive it away, but will tow it too. If they've been following your tracks and know that you have a removable wheel, they will come prepared.

People say thieves will take your car anyway but most thieves aren't "professionals" and you can't just pop any steering wheel on a NRG hub. If that was the case they'd be out if business now. So the logic doesn't follow that form of thinking.

Towing a car? 67' mustang maybe, no one really cares that much about "cheap" imports. You're doing the right thing just make it hard to steal. Not saying if your car wasn't really expensive it wouldn't get stolen. But your car doesn't look like it's on that level but that doesn't mean it can't be.

The wheel does look terrible though. Return the wheel, keep the hub.

Keep up the good work. Layer your security.

If you really want to protect your car, a GPS is the only thing that will save your car because they will take your car if they want it badly enough. I was going to invest in a alarm but after setting mine off in my dd at the mall and just watching. No one pays attention or cares.

I think my NRG quick release is the main reason no one bothered trying to steal my car over the years. They also sell a hub lock you can put over your hub when the wheel is removed that would help as well.

Side Note- That NRG wheel is ugly.... Momo Tuners are pretty cheap and they are basically an NSX-R wheel without the "H" horn button.

all nrg quick releases are the same..so anyone with a nrg quick release can take it...the nrg hub lock helps....yes it will slow them down and keep the simply ones away but it wont stop a thief that really wants the car

Yes! the steering wheel does look bad now that I look at it closely, well return it and get a basic one I guess. I'll just keep it original and jdm look.

Nothing will really keep the thieves away. Maybe a killswitch, but those fools can use a tow truck, etc. If they want it, they will get it... sadly. Hire a couple hitmen to chill in the back seats when you park :D
