Hey all, i'm trying to find out if there is anyone making custom 5th gears for cable b series transmissions? I currently have an LS 5th, but want something a little longer. I do quite a bit of loonnnggg drives and 3500rpm@75mph isnt fun for 4 hours straight... I'd like to at least get it down to 3200, or 3500rpm@80 mph. So something around a .69 or .70 ratio. Stock B16 is .848 and stock LS is .742. I have a 4.4 FD and 205/50-16 Nitto Neogens.

You can have Houseman Autosport make you a custom set but, it will not be cheap! I would probably just deal with it or put on a set of 19s

 

What kind of price are we looking at? $500 a set?

And I think im just going to put a 4.266 FD in it and call it a day. That should get me to 80@3500rpm. And it shouldnt shorten my 1-4 all that much. I have a spare 4.4 so hopefully I can find someone that will do a trade...
