so i bring my car in to get an oil change, since i dont have any tools. guys says it will take 10-15 mins max. an hour passes by, they cant get the oil filter off, so i go back to work (late). call them 4 hours later to see if the car is ready: boy was a surprised, the car got the oil change, but for some reason my clutch is broken? they cant get the car into first gear. they say that since its an aftermarket clutch they cant do anything about it. my friend and i go to the dealership to find out that the car now has clutch issues. it wont go into any gears. my friend adjusts some bolts and pins which allow me to get the car into gear, but the clutch feels way off. its super short, like all or nothing clutch feel. their explanation is that a bolt fell off where the clutch pedal is.

i drive it home, stalling 3-4 times, getting stuck at a stoplight because the car got stuck in first gear, grinds 5th. granted i am not the best driver, but the last time i stalled was about 10 years ago. never had any grinds whatsoever, until today
is there anything i can do to make the dealership fix this problem? my car was running completely perfect before i dropped it off. i even asked the tech that drove my car onto the car lift, and he said that the clutch was fine when he drove it up.
did i screw myself for leaving the dealership without coming to a resolution? im so mad, they are making it seem as if its my fault the clutch went out, just because it is boosted. its an aftermarket clutch.
the tech says he spent 6 hours trying to take the filter off... do you guys think that because they spent so much time on a $15 oil change they are trying to compensate by trying to make me pay for them fixing my clutch. at first they were going to charge me 75 bucks just to diagnose the problem, then i complained and they said they would do it for free, but did not come to a resolution. they also said that that 75 bucks... should i choose to have them fix the issue will be deducted from the labor for fixing the issue (over the phone). while im at the dealership they tell me that since its an aftermarket clutch they dont know how to fix it, "it has different parts" what kind of bullshit is this

idk what state/city youre in, but if youre in california, you can go to the bureau of automotive repair and file a complaint. theyll investigate, talk to people who was involved with the service.(service writer, person that drove the car into the bay)...if anything breaks while in their possession, they are responsible, regardless of an aftermarket clutch. dont wait too long and dont drive the car too much either.
how many miles have you driven the car since the service?

6 hours to take off an oil filter? When i get one that is stuck I can have it off in less than 30 minutes. its not rocket science to change oil. You got hosed. The tech probably took it for a ride and beat the sh*t out of your car.
If the car was fine to get to the dealership and get into the garage they screwed something up!
Also shouldn't take 4 hours to get a filter off... something is off in this story or what i believe it something happened that you don't know about!
Last time, I went for an oil change they put the wrong oil in my car. Instead of putting 5w30 they put 5w20. I knew from the fact because on the bill it said on the bill. I picked up the car at 5 when the shop is closed but I made a huge scene about it to have the actual adviser come and explain to me why! When he came he was like why are you freaking out it's an oil change... I asked him to get the manager right away. Manager arrives and I start telling the adviser off for putting the wrong oil in my car. He tells me that it's just oil and to relax. I tell him if Honda put a oil cap with the correct weight of oil to put in the engine why the hell would you put something different? I ask if he realizes what the damages he could of caused and he responds that it's a civic not a Ferrari. I look at the manager and ask him if he recalls the call back for cam galling on the 2002-2003 Si and he was like yes I do and then I ask him what was the reason for that? Manager responds to using the incorrect oil and that they needed to replace a few engine because the galling was very severe. He even went as far as telling the adviser that my car wasn't just a civic but a high performance civic and that if my engine ever does develop any sort of issue cause of the oil used it would be 9000$ to replace!
Ended up getting free oil changes as long as I am the owner of the car!
Don't be scared to be pushy they all think they know everything but they don't... once you stand up to them they will start working something out for you.
