98 Accord Instrument Lights "shorted out"
Hello All, New to the honda-tech site & hopefully can find an answer concerning this one.
I was swapping out my dash clock in my 98 Accord the other day. I accidentally touch my wiring harness to the replacement clock & apparently shorted out my dash lights somewhere. I didn't realize until it was too late that I was trying to install the wrong clock from a newer year.
All lights currently work in car do work but the following; Instrument Cluster/Shift Indicator/Heater Control.
I pulled every fuse on both ends of dash & under hood & all fuses appear good, even tested them w a voltmeter.
Could I have accidentally "shorted' my dash dimmer switch out when touching the male wiring harness plug into the "wrong" clock? I even swapped out instrument clusters to no avail. Re-installed old clock for now.
I'm sure it's a "simple" fix, if I only knew where to go! Any help would be greatly appreciated! In the meantime, I have NO dash lights & it really bites!
