my stock OEM jack worked fine, but i thought it would work even better if i lubed it up since i've never done that before, so i read a couple different posts doing a google search and a couple people said to use silicone lubricant, so i used a spray silicone lube i had on the threads and all the parts of the jack, but next time i used it, it seemed almost like it was stuck and i had to really force it to make it turn,
so my question is, what can i do to get the jack to work properly again ???,
like some type of lube to put on it ?, or should i use some type of degreaser or something to get the coating of the silicone lube off of it first?,
any input would be cool, thanks

Brake parts cleaner will clean everything off of there, you can try using pneumatic tool oil since it wont wear away as fast or gum up like the silicone spray. Might just be better off going to the junkyard and getting a good working one to save you a headache.
It is a spare jack, not a-work on my car everyother day jack. They don't always hold up well to constant use, also not the most stable either. With that being said I've just used universal/wheel bearing grease on them in the past.
