Default 1999 Honda Civic Si Temp Sensor Problem

I have a 99 Civic Si with the b16a2. A couple months ago it over heated so i did the head gasket on it and its been fine ever since, only thing is that it is throwing the code 0117 which is the temp sensor, when i hook it up to the scanner it reads 419 degree's. i replaced it already and cleared the code it instantly came back and read the same degree. what could it be? I'm wondering if my ecu is shot but then again it worked fine before the head gasket.

Post a picture of the sensor you replaced.

This was the one i replaced, idk if you wanted a picture of the actual one.
replaced it and it still reads that its 419 degrees, maybe there might be a short somewhere to that wire? Vtec wont work so that is how i know it has to do with it and its the only code that my car is throwing.

i checked for a short, i looked up the harness colors it says the ect wire is red and white but on my sensor its a blue wire and a black wire with grey on it. that is what is confusing us now is the wires all over say its in pin out 31 which is white and red but like i said, on my clip to the switch its a blue and black wire.

Do you have the VTEC pressure switch or EVAP bypass valve connector swapped with the ECT sensor connector?

That's what I thought at first but then made sure and nope, they're all correct..when I got the car it came with the b16a in it but I doubt the harness was ever changed.

Use your multimeter to check whether the wires in the plug are connected to the correct ECU pins.

Also post some pictures of all sensors (showing the wires) on the transmission side of the engine.

It ended up being my Vtec and ECT sensor were switched, i had fixed a wire before and for some reason i thought it was the vtec one but it wasnt, it was indeed the ECT wire so that is why i was "certain" i had them right, thanks for your help
