Does anyone here use a budget HID from ebay? Is there any ebay brands that's not half bad? I know some of the really cheap kits, the ballasts go bad easily.

I am trying to upgrade the lighting in my sister's 97 Integra, but on a small budget. Looking for a plug n' play for the the low beam.

 

If you want a real upgrade, then a retrofit is the only way to go. Just stuffing HIDs into the halogen projectors doesn't provide any useful increase, as you end up with hot spots and an overpowered foreground, which reduces total visibility.

 

You should really stop going "budget" with everything. Reading your posts over in the Accord section it doesn't seem like you want to fork out any money for quality. Ebay HID's of any brand are junk, regardless either the bulbs or ballasts will go out eventually. Sooner than later usually. Besides, if you're not going to run projectors HID's are just plain retarded. Its a TON of light that isn't highly focused in any way. Sure they may look cool, and light up the road a good amount, but to what loss? Getting the police on your case and blinding every driver between destinations? When I ran HID's without globes in my Accord I had my headlights adjusted downwards a TON just to semi-not blind other drivers.
