I have a 97civic ex sedan now the problem im having is sometimes when im driving and i come to a stop my idle will drop to 0 and shut off then the battery lightturns on but it will start rite back up when i turn the key. It doesnt have a knock sensor but im not sure if thats causing the problem plz help me out appreciate it

Try cleaning the IACV and fix the KS code if there is one.

 

When is last time you changed your fuel filter? I cleaned IACV, replaced fuel regulator(was bad anyway as I found out), valve adjustment, dist cap and rotor, plugs and a host of other troubleshooting and it turned out to be a sludged fuel filter.

 

My 95 Del Sol did that very same thing to me just before the motor spun a bearing... Come to find out, when the motor sensed the low oil pressure (when i came to a stop) the motor would cut off as a precaution. You had said that your battery light comes on, but make sure that its the ONLY light that comes on!

 

negative. the motor does not shut itself off with low oil pressure. that is the motor seizing.

 

Kyden, my motor did not sieze. I am still able to crank the motor over by hand.
