is it suppose to have this much slop in between to the to? cp piston # sc7001 eagle rod# crs529oh3d its for a b16

Yeah they make that area of the pin boss wide to accept all kinds of rods. Don't worry about it, the rod journal on the crankshaft will keep the rod centered.

That would have alerted me as well. That seems like an awful lot of space for it to move. So MUCKMAN, your saying when its rotating the oil journal keeps it centered?

I'm no MUCKMAN, but yes the journal centers the rod. Unless you have a nasty taper or excessive fillet. Or no fillet at all.

The piston is locked in position in the cylinder, and the rod on the crank journal.
