I just bought a 2002 Honda Civic EX - around 100K miles

I have no history on it except for carfax - I have 1k budget so what should I get serviced to extend its life.

power steering belt
AC compressor belt
various seals/gaskets
tensioner

water pump seals

what else should I have taken care of..

All the fluids and filters like transmission ,etc

Definitely do a thorough check on the cooling system (including the heater core), as well as the transmission.

The car is due for timing belt service, that is around $700 for full service.

In order of bang for your buck.

First replace what is evidently broken/breaking first. Timing belt, water pump, idler, valve lash, oil change are a must. Then the crank and cam seals, the valve cover seals, various o-rings, replace the thermostat, replace ALL the coolant hoses. Clean the EGR valve and airways.

Get the car aligned, change the tires, check the Auto Tranny fluid, change the coolant (flush as well, see above timing belt service,) replace the brake fluid, replace the powersteering fluid, (old fluid speeds breakage on all parts internals,) check the rear drums, inspect the discs, brake pads, check the wheel bearings, check the axles, lubricate the pinions on the caliper, lubricate all other hinges.
