Default Problem with D16Y7 cam into D16Z6 head

Hello if this has been discussed all ready I'm sorry but to make a long story short my engine is a D16z6 I needed a new camshaft/w pulley so I went to the junk yard and could only find D16y7's so I bought it and tried it but now when the rocker arm is on the cam won't spin. Is it bc the current rocker arm is still the d16z6 and it needs to be from a D16y7 to match the cam??
ANY help will be greatly appreciated lol

why would you think a nonvtec cam would work on a vtec motor?

I see few y8's engines here with y7 cams and complete rocker assembly.

I think isn't worth you need to block the vtec, buy rockers Assy. from y7 and
change your ECU tune (if it's chipped) or swap ECU plus no VTEC.

You be better with the correct cam for your head.

Ok thanks for the help. I got the y7 cam bc apparently the z6 motor is not a easy find over here and I called honda and they said the cams are the same part numberso I figured they'd be the same. I've literally been to every junk yard and have seen at least 80 civics and not 1 is a z6 lol all y7's or b series

LOL whoever told you the Z6 and Y7 cams are the same part number is a ******* idiot.

Z6 - 14110-P28-A00
Y7 - 14111-P2E-A10

If you want to retain full functionality, you can use a Y8 or A6 cam in a Z6. If you use a Y7 cam, you'll have to do a lot more work, and you'll lose VTEC, period.
