EG6 HEATED MIRROR HELP! How to swap OEM PFHM into a JDM EG6?
Hey guys!
i couldnt find a thread about this anywhere, if there is one im sorry!
so i just purchased an EG6 and it has power folding mirrors
a friend of mine also just purchased and EG6 but his has power folding heated mirrors
he will do a straight trade with me along as its straight forward
my question being other than the switch and mirrors them selves being switched, do we have to switch the whole wiring harness / relay or anything like that
any info would be greatly appreciated
thanks!

Well, this is a little different. These are authentic JDM EG6s I'm presuming because OP is in Canada. So, the heated mirrors in this case are an original Accessory install by Honda Japan.
Since they are a dealer accessory, you'll find that there's a separate wiring harness that starts behind the mirror switch and travels to the fuse box and each door. On the passenger side it runs right behind the glove compartment bracket. Then behind each door panel is the accessory wiring that goes to the mirrors. The mirrors will be a little tricky to disassemble for the heated components just because of the wiring. But if both the EG6s are the same colour then you can just swap over the whole mirrors.
You WILL need to consult my DIY just to see all the parts involved with the 'heated' aspect of the mirrors. Especially if you need to swap mirror glass (with the heater pad) + internal wiring as this is a fussy procedure, plus you need to be careful not to break the glass. (You won't need to remove it from its holder thing at least.) Removing the little pins for the wires will be your biggest point of frustration, but your best friend will be the TINIEST Allen Key that you can find, because you will need to do a bit of this:

Anyway, here is a diagram showing more or less all the equipment that is included with the original heated mirrors accessory install. This doesn't show quantities but I'm sure you can figure that out.

And, here is a layout showing where the wiring harnesses run:

Finally, if you could take some PHOTOS of the way the PFHM parts were INSTALLED before you remove them, that would be awesome! I like to document this information so I can fill my brain with more useless ... uh, I mean useful ... info.

Yeah the cars are both authentic EG6's from japan imported to Canada , I didn't think it was a dealer option to have heated as the switch has the orange heater button in the middle of the mirror switch
we both have full harness's, relays etc, I just need to know if we should just switch full harness's and relays or we can keep the same ones

Uhh, you need to swap ONLY the ACCESSORY harnesses for the heated mirrors. This is a SEPARATE harness that was installed by the dealer when they put in the heated mirrors option. This was a dealer-installed OPTION. It wasn't stock from the factory.
Power Folding Mirrors was stock on an EG6 but Power Folding HEATED Mirrors was OPTIONAL. They gave you a new switch with the heat button, plus some little harnesses specific to the heated mirrors operation, and new mirror glass with the heated pads already stuck to them. Does all this make sense?
Let me know if it doesn't.

Yes, that image is from the JDM Accessory installation instructions for the Heated Mirrors. That image shows exactly where the harness is run because it is from the actual installation instructions. It's the real deal and should show you exactly where to look.
perfect! you have been more then helpfull, my friend who has the PFHM lives about an hour away from me and said he will come down here and we can do the swap
Thanks again man! Much appreciated

Awesome. Did you see my request above for pictures? Pics of the OEM PFHM install would be super cool, just to see how it was done by the installer back in the day. Think you could do this for me?
Yeah man i could do that, ok the Uk forum i post on some guy posted this , its one of your threads but does this help me in anyway or no ?
I guess you have to take the doorpanel of and mirror maybe, and search for the wiring there. Or find the relay under the dash with the colored wire in it. https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-civic-del-sol-1992-2000-1/definitive-92-95-civic-power-folding-heated-mirrors-locks-windows-diy-guide-2530448/ DSC_3758-1.JPG
wire 7 and 8 (black and blue/red) are for heated, so if they are already there I guess you are good to go with just swapping the mirrors and switch.
