Default civic b18 oil gone

Gf bought a 97 civic with b18b1 swap everything clean changed oil in car two days ago then went on little road trip yesterday about 200 miles easy driving and about 20 miles from hom the oil light came on and when Ichecked all oil was gone. The bottom of car has oil.everywhwere. the plug is in snug and filter too the engine is making no bad noises like tick or knock. Its too dark to look more tonight in my parkig lot ne ideas? Thanks we really need this car to be running right now with no problems. Could.the last owner have stopped a leak temporarily to sell somehow?

Maybe the main seal or the pan gasket had a blow out?

Maybe an oil line is crap?

Pan gasket doesn't sound bad or an oil line but a main seal that sounds a little scary is that a hard fix time consuming costly if I do myself .

Ant codes besides the oil light? But yea..see what color the smoke is. Could be piston rings also. The oil is burning in the combustion chmaber due to old rings.

And I don't thing shot rings will make it smoke..so it might NOT smoke had a subaru with **** rings. Had to fill the oil back up after a couple hundred miles.

The oil light is not a "warning" light, it's a "you're fucked" light. If you lost an entire pan of oil in less than a tank of gas, you need to refill it with the cheapest oil you can buy, put it on jack stands, start it up, and see where it's coming from - you WILL be able to tell.

Is it possible the oil leaked out over the whole time Iwas driving on hwy Idrove over 250 miles. My only option right now is waste more oil driving to family memebers garage and then if it leaks out from a to b bad.so then ill put more oil in once up in the air. Sound about right, or bad idea

Make sure that you have a good oil level and run it at idle. Does oil leak at idle other than an occasional drip? If it isn't worse than a few drips, then 10 miles shouldn't make it much worse considering you just did the 250. Make sure the oil filter is sealing. Wash it on the way to the garage if you can. Oil blows all over while you drive, It will be easier to spot the leak if you've cleaned it.

I washed it all off last night while engine was cool and just got back from letting it run in my.apartment lot and Iseen the leek right next to the header coming from between the two slabs of sandwiched metal guessing head. It oozes out at idle too. I got pics but don't know how to upload trying to figure out.

He asked if Iknow hondas then.got an attitude saying don't text its the mechanic not the car and to get it fixed. Dumb Iam going to fix it.but he doesn't want to tell me nething as if he never noticed it get low on oil. Sorry so sloppy I'm on. My phone. Am I right about these things tho? Camsealtype. Prior hisory of repair none of wich he will answer. Wonder if he knows hondas hmmm?

Cam seals are pretty easy to change. Distributor seals too. Oil pan gaskets are a little more tricky, but not too hard as long as you take your time and torque each little bolt correctly in proper sequence. Oil pump seal is tedious... might as well do a timing belt and water pump job, if you're going to do that. Main seal, though? Prepare to disassemble your entire engine.

That should be the url the closeup is of space to the right of exhaust manifold. Oil is semi clear but looks to be coming from there or drippping along it from somewhere close so can ne body make that out from the pics or do Ineed video or better description.

Could it be possible that you double gasketed the oil filter?
