Great progress! Where did you end up getting the Rio Red paint for the bumper? Custom aerosol order online?

It's actual automotive paint base and clear shot from a sata hvlp gun. Got the paint from local paint shop. All high quality stuff still shot in a driveway haha. Didn't turn out to bad. Need to wet sand and buff out some trash from the clear but overall came out nice. Probably we be painting a panel here and there where I find time to.

Tire Rack is a really good site. Keep your eye open for the size of wheel you want and they have sales every now and again. I know my rims aren't OEM honda or anything baller, but I got my rims and Fuzion ZRi low profile tires shipped to my door for just over $400. Tires were like $40 a piece.

Yea I'm in the automotive industry so I have some tire connects it's just finding some spare change to drop on them because I'm funding the rest of this build trying to get it running. My factory crx wheels have excellent tires on them so I'm not in a rush plus I have 3 more wheels to polish so I'm not ready to mount them anyways. In due time I suppose.

Pretty much my plan. I use my rims most of the time, but I still have my stock 13'' steelies with really nice tires. I beat on them sometimes.

To much. Haha I don't care how much it cost I love clean crx's. Hell clean Hondas in general. Between the engine it's self from the scrap yard about $180. Then all the machine work $280. And all the goodies close to $1000 in cam gear, cam, valvetrain. Another $400 or so in wire conversion harnesses and ecu and other odds and ends. So I'm close to 2k I guess. May sound crazy but engine wise should be a 0 mile car on a pretty solid chassis. Will try to get some more pics this weekend of the car in general. I'm so ready to get this thing running.

Oh and by the way before I get bashed and why not just B swap it man for the money you have in it. Trust me I know and wish I could but I would have went through the same entire process I did with this engine because I wanted it completely rebuilt from top to bottom. It would have been a $1600 engine plus a $2000 rebuild. So I know there will be some haters but I like to take pride in this car and want it done as correctly as possible.

Nah, do what you want. I can't hate on someone's choice to make a clean car. I spent $1000 on my swap. It looks pretty clean though. 60K miles or so. It's not a 0 mile motor like this. This motor will last a life time if you take care of it.

Got a question for you, any tips on cleaning the engine bay with the motor already in? Mine is grimey and I want to clean it up this weekend.

Well I did mine with it out. But I would recommend simple green. Buy the concentrated gallon. It has mix strengths on the side of ratios to use. Put it in a spray bottle and cover the electrical components. I.e. Distributor, main relays, other stuff like that with ziplocks or grocery bags. Then spray the solution around the bay let it soak a bit then hose it down. Repeat till clean. Then take a rag and spray the solution on the rag. Hand wipe down the electrical components you covered. I'll post pics probably tomorrow of how well it cleaned up my pitch black tranny and my bay.

Nice. Simple green. I have industrial degreaser. I believe I can get my hands on some simple green though. I'll give it a shot. It's hard to scrub in there, so I was looking towards something I can spray, soak, and spray off.

Pressure washer would work best but be super careful on what and how you spray. Real easy to damage stuff with a pressure washer or possibly even hydro lock a motor if you shot it down the intake or spark plug wells. So if your not happy with rinsing. Pressure wash works good.

Rinsing is easy. I just can't shove my hand in some places to use degreaser and a sponge. That was my original plan. Thanks for the advice though. I don't have a pressure washer, so I'll do a couple cylces of spraying and rinsing.

Why is there an accelerator cable just creeping its way into this photo? But seriously, the motor looks fresh. Like just walked out of the 90s. Also, that VTEC solenoid is weird! I never noticed where they were on SOHC. Mine is right by the Distributor and it has become 'normal' to me.

Haha yea that cable is off the donor engine. Just haven't took it off yet. My throttle cable I'm using is still in the cars chassis. Still have a lot of wiring hosing and sensor type stuff to do on it so pay no attention to hoses or electrical lol. I wish the guy that did my block cleaned it better but oh well. And I need funds for a header I don't want that ugly stock thing haha I painted over the rust and tossed it on for now till I can afford a legit header.

So I have a ton of sensors in on the way. Different timing belt. Going to run the gates racing belt since I'm running open timing covers. Ngk wire set and more goodies on the way. Pics to come.
