Vtec solenoid removal
my wifes 2001 accord is leaking at the Vtec solenoid i ordered the gasket and thought that it would be like a 5 minute job because am use to b series and the vtec solenoid is easily assessable.... is there any way to remove the solenoid with out have to remove the water inlet? i dont want to make more work out of something small and i would have to wait 2 weeks to get the gaskets if i have to remove the water inlet since am stationed in germany any help would be nice
I did one the other day and had to remove the two bolts to the water inlet. Didn't have to remove the inlet all the way out. The bolts are 12mm. You have a 4-cylinder right? If so, there you go.
It is possible to remove the VTEC solenoid without removing the thermostat housing. You can use a 10mm offset box wrench to remove the lower bolt.
