2002 - Rearender today
Daughter got hit by a kid running late for school this am. Allstate insurance. Got an estimate of $4,880.00. The right rear qtr is pushed pretty well to the left as the pics show and a bit forward. The rear pass side door is a little tight. At that cost point and the age/year of the Accord, I know they're going to want to write it off. It's a solid car and I "know people" in the business that can make the necessary pulls and me and a very capable mechanic friend can pull it apart, grab used parts and have the welding and painting professionally done.
Any suggestions to dealing with the negotiations for valuing the car and a buy back offer? It sits in my garage right now. Other things to consider for the repair?

Yeah... got the adjuster headed our way soon. I figure that the car WAS worth about $3500 - $4000. We'll see what they offer... I do have an expectation that my daughter also be compensated for her pain, suffering and lost wages.
I'll reply back in case anyone else has this misfortune and want to see how it plays out. Maybe I should have posted this over in the Civics too - for advice - they stay pretty busy in there - the Accords seem to stay out of trouble a bit more...
