Hi, I dont know anything about Civics but my wife has 07 Civic with about 70k miles and her rear suspension squeaks when going over big bumps/potholes etc.

I looked at it myself, my buddy mechanic looked at it, another indy mechanic looked at it, and finally honda dealer also looked at it. well honda took my 60-70 bucks for diag and said i need to pay another 400 for them to figure it out... Nobody else was able to troubleshoot the noise and so far I replaced rear shocks, lubricated stabilizer bar bushings, and replaced upper and lower coil spring rubber bushings.....noise is still there.

Is there maybe a TSB or a weak spot in these cars associated with noise coming from rear suspension ?

 

Did you check the sway bar end links for play? If not sounds like a dry bushing maybe your upper control arm bushings.

 

Thanks for reply. Well I am not mechanic myself, but I am sure others have checked sway bar links, I did too and everything seems ok. Perhaps it is control arm bushing, I am just tired of spending money and guessing lol.

the reason why I replaced shocks is because on top of squeaking there was some other noise and it kinda went away with new shocks (replaced twice due to defective parts), then I found that lower coil bushings are all messed up and decided to replaced lower and upper ones.

 

Re tourque your rear suspension. I had my 09 4dr si at the dealership for it. It would squeak coming out the driveway going over speen humps everything.
They told me once they retorqued all the bolts the squeaking stopped. I have not had any issues since.
