Default Random b20z2 intake manifold question

I am interested in some feedback from you all here about the b20z2 intake manifold vs swapping it out for say a stock integra manifold or an aftermarket intake manifold. The grey box that bolts to the top of the intake manifold is obviously there for a reason. Now lets say you were to swap out the entire intake manifold to get rid of this grey box. Would you see a loss in power? Would it be noticeable? I am just curious about this and figured I would ask.
Thank you in advance.

Everything I have seen says you lose mid range torque. It's basically an LS Integra intake if you remove the box and cap the hole. I would imagine you would get an identical effect by swapping an LS intake on. No other intakes will bolt in to a b20 head unless you go aftermarket. Those are designed for higher rpm power than the b20 head can flow so you would just be wasting your time and money.

In this situation Honda knows best and anything you do will have a negative affect. It sucks too cause the box is hideous.

the head could flow the air just fine, its the bottom end that cant take the high RPM's. Biggest issue being the weak half sized rod bolts.

it does look identical to the manifold on my integra. The box on top looks a ton better than the b20b intake manifold. I figured that the "honda knows best" works here but I wanted to pick the brains of fellow crv owners. Now NOT having that box there would make strut bars a lot easier to find and or fabricate.

I have tuned tons of b20 vtecs that handle 8000-8500 rpm with no issue.

I agree on wishing I could ditch the box, but I intend to pull a small tear drop camper with my crv soon, I need all the mid range I can get
