Finally got my Neukin AX Manifold and my GT2871R
I is happy
and yes, I will ACTUALLY use this setup, as opposed to the twenty something other possibilities i've amassed over the years
Now if I can just get the damn chassis done

My phone broke, le sigh. so I'm trying to figure out pics.
I basically got the 2871r for free and the price on the manifold was too good to pass up.
I had basically been waiting for a 2871r to pop up somewhere and one of my 240/drifting buddies said he had one, so I gave him an sr20 turbo manifold for the 2871
I've still got a lot of work to do on the chassis but since I've had to stuff my car to one corner of the garage so the hardwood floor guys have room to cut flooring and whatnot
I probably won't be able to touch the chassis till late this month, at least then I can put my bare block and empty transmission in so I can start mocking things up before the bay gets painted.
Not having these two parts was holding me back as far as mockup goes and I won't be able to start a build thread that shows any real promise till I'm out of this rental house and back in our house (where the civic is) when the fire repairs are done

Hmm.. That compressor wheel looks a bit abused from a cheap filter from your drifting buddy. Hopefully it's working out . Finally you're getting something together!!!!

I can definitely tell you its not photoshopped. dont even own it or know how to use it
yea it was run without a filter for a small amount of time, it's just a little rough on the leading edges so i'll just smooth them out
and yes, finally getting somewhere

don't need one, because it's a t25 based turbo, the turbine housing sits the CHRA higher, the angle of the pics throws it off. this is just a typcal mini ram.. now if I had a t3 based turbo the chra would sit much lower then a return line would be a bitch
guy I got it from said he used his return line off of his inline pro setup without issues

who else but me could get a free 2871r mac?
I always wondered why you said T04B housings for space limited apps... now I know why, I can grip the entire comp cover with my hand lol, I guess I'm just used to bigger turbos, but it does offer the ability to use larger wheels, there's a lot of meat you could machine away
The cartridge is in good shape, the oil section of the CHRA isn't even stained. The comp. wheel has a few rough spots but most 240 owners aren't the most picky bunch. I could get a new bearing assembly, new comp wheel and balance it and still be 700 under the cost of a used 2871r

lmao... errrbody in this thread got nothing but love / motivation for you mang.
still too early in the game to be "all-in" for this turbo setup....but i'm rooting for you to get her done.

I hope that was a joke. You aren't kicking out nearly enough exhaust energy to warrant 2 gates.. I'd just laugh at you.. I told you most "creep" issues are solenoid control-based and not the turbo or manifold itself.

but, with a . 64 turbine housing, 38mm wg, gsc t1s, head work, 10.5:1 compression ls/vtec, I can tap this turbo out around 20psi I expect, would should give lots of torque, my concern is that the small housing will require a significant amount of wastegate bypass regardless of boost levels and I know if that 38 won't cut it I'm headed for creep city. I tossed around in my head that should an overboost situation arise, a solenoid (not based on boost pressure) would immediately open the internal wg flapper as far as possible to drop boost levels, I also thought it would be kinda handy as well to open the flapper and reduce manifold backpressure and improve economy
you know me and my mad scientist ideas
