94' Accord won't go past 20mph?
Hey guys I need some help here before I turn this car into a mechanic. It's 1994 Honda Accord EX with 208,xxx miles.
I noticed the car started to slip in the transmission when i drove around so i changed the transmission fluid with Honda trans fluid but it didn't do the job.
Just recently it began to bog or slip. I was on the freeway going 80mph and hit a bit of traffic and the car started to high rev to 6rpm and not go past 20mph while high revving. I pulled over started the car again and it was hard to start over. When I got it to start again it did the same thing, rev for a while, then finally kick in and start moving. I was lucky enough to make it to my destination but the car didn't want to go past 20mph.
Today I turned the car on and looked around. I noticed a high pitched hissing sound near the motor or maybe the catalytic converter. I'm assuming it is my catalytic converter or o2 sensor. I unplugged the battery as well to reset the ECU to see if would do anything.
Anybody run into an issue like this? if so, what did you do and how much did it cost for your to repair it?
I'm a full time student and I don't have money or time to be juggle my car from shop to shop if they can't find the problem.
Please email me at invertz3@gmail.com if you have a quick solution. I really need this car for school or need the push to get a new one.
THANKS GUYS!

Did you pull any codes before you cleared the memory or did you just unplug it thinking it would reset something, because it won't.
I wasn't expecting it to resolve the problem. I just did research on other 20mph problems and one came up by him pulling the battery. I wouldn't be asking HT if it solved the issue. A lot come up with the Cat being clogged, or bad, or the o2 sensor going bad. Please forgive me, I don't have a lot of experience with under the hood mechanics.
In my case it wouldn't go past 40. I had to pull over and start again. I thought it was transmission until it happened when it was parked then took it to the mechanic and it cost me less than $300. I think it was the Cat.
