91 Accord Front End Noise 50+ MPH
Hello All,
Ever since I replaced the front brake pads I now have a couple issues. I've noticed that at speeds around 50 and up there is a noise coming from what sounds like the drivers front. It's kind of like a howling noise, like wheel bearing maybe? Not much shaking but from time to time also get shaking when I apply the brakes, but it doesn't happen every time.
The sound at freeways speeds is consistent though, this morning the noise got ALOT louder which forced me to slow to 50 until i could get off the freeway and return to the house. On some back roads to my house i got it up to 50-60 and no loud noise!
Yesterday I felt the drivers side hubcab and I couldn't keep my hand on it more the 5 seconds, the passenger side definetly wasn't as hot. A clue maybe?
The drivers side CV joint has been making the typical slow speed clicking noise for a couple years, maybe it is finally giving up?
I would think if it's the wheel bearing it would be consistent.
thanks.

I'm having almost the same exact thing cept its on the pass side and its makes a howl AND a resonance you can feel in the cabin. The noise happens at lower rpms while going up an incline, and only when I have my foot on the gas. Remove the gas and the noise goes away AND its intermittent. Cv axle maybe?

sorry I forgot to update the thread, it ended up being the wrong pads. I took them apart to inspect and noticed a ridge on the edge. Took them back and was told there are two different types of calipers for this car. The original person that sold them to me didn't say anything, just gave me what he had in stock.
Got the other pads installed and problem went away. My drivers side axle shaft had been clicking for a long time so I went ahead and replaced that too.
thanks for your replies/suggestions.
