Default Anyone know what this is?

I've got a 2000 Accord V6. The car has been making a knocking noise, mainly under braking or some bumps. I was thinking it was the mounts, but we found this sticking out below the car. Not sure if this is what is causing the noise. It looks like a strap of some sort, it is on the driver side below the B-Pillar.

Any ideas what this is? Been looking in the Haynes Manual but can't find anything yet.

Have you gotten under the car and actually checked to see if there is just a missing fastener for that front piece?

Personally, that bracket doesn't look very Honda-esque. What it does look like is a fender brace for a 80's GM midsize. Don't be surprised if its stabbed in through the floorboard. IOW , road debris.

I think you're right about the road debris. I was able to reach into the area where this was and couldn't really find a place where this would go. Looked on the passenger side too and nothing. I finally yanked on it and the other end of the strap started poking out. Just pulled it out and found this. It had a bolt through section on one side and a hook on the other. Another person on a forum looked through a Accord body manual and couldn't find anything similar, so I going to assume road debris.

No kidding. The weird thing is where it embedded itself, it literally slotted beneath a the side cover (below the door sil). Just looking at it, even below the car, it looked like it could come from there.

Fairly sure there are no metal braces like that used on the rocker molding, just a urethane cover and some clips to hold it on.
