I need some help.

I need to swap the existing door lock cylinder out of my broken door handle over to a replacement handle assembly but I'm not having much luck figuring out how to get the cylinder free from the door handle.

It appears the lock cylinder is held in place by a couple of "pins" on either side of the cylinder. Do I insert the key and turn it and push the pins in or ?
