put a new clutch in a 96 acura, driver side axle will not turn
need to either shove it in hard enough that you feel it 'pop' in or wack it with a big enough dead blow hammer that it sets. if that clip ring doesn't pop into place the differential won't spin the axle and the car won't move

if you put a car on jackstands with a full slip diff, only one tire will turn. while in neutral, try and choc the wheel that turns, see if the other does when you put it in gear.
"Nothing"? That's impossible.
When you try and turn the wheel that won't turn, WHAT DOES IT DO?
1) Is the wheel locked in place solidly, like it was glued in?
2) Does it rotate a little bit, but hit something hard at each end of the arc?
3) If #2, can you hear/feel anything inside the transmission trying to move?
4) If #2, how much rotation is there? Measure in inches at the tread.

Are u sure u installed the clutch the right way and did u have an alignment tool to align the clutch properly?
Stock tranny only spins one side and that's passenger side so check ur clutch again.

It sounds like your axle isnt seated. The grinding noise was your spline grinding in the diff.
When they say jack up the car with both wheels in the air in neutral, theyre asking you to manually rotate one tire. The other side should spin the opposite direction. If it doesnt it means an axle isnt seated.
I did the same thing once. I had it in reverse, it moved back. Put it in gear and heard a loud grind then nothing. Hammered the axle in and it snapped in, and everything was all good after

did you install new snap rings on the axles or at least bend your old ones out a little so they clip in place. there is a solid thud that gets made on the passenger side and the driver side you can seat while off the car since it slides on the half shaft
