Default Accord transmission/clutch woes

Hi all first post on here. I am looking for some help with a 99 2litre accord.it's my dads car.
I have just changed the clutch in it, I then took it for a test drive around the block when finished all good, nice light clutch.

I hand car back to my dad, on his first journey he does about a mile before there is a loud bang from engine bay and complete loss of drive he said it felt like it jumped out of gear.

We can't find any gears however it does sound like something's trying to mesh in 3rd and 4th gear only all the over gears are silent?

We towed the car back and I have removed transmission checking everything as I removed it clutch, driveshafts, linkage etc everything is assembled correctly.

I can't for the life of me figure out what I have done wrong? I can't believe the transmission has expired a mile after a clutch change, would be too much of a coincidence!

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am really scratching my head with this one!

Cheers

Would the speedo move in gear with the clutch out? If so an axle wasn't seated all the way and popped out of the diff enough to not catch in the splined differential.

Thanks for replies
I didn't have the speedo connected unfortunately, that was a finishing up job.
I don't understand how the driveshaft can pop out, the bottom ball joint holds everything together?
It was also fully seated when I removed tranny a second time?
However the break down did occur pulling out of a junction and turning right.

The original fault was the clutch was slipping in traffic, gearbox has been fine.

Can you please clean up this post ? It's hard to figure out what exactly you're saying. Just don't use slang and leave out key words. Just talk normally.

Which part do you not understand? I wasn't aware I was using any slang?

Are you a forum moderator or just a busy body?
Your post is not in the least bit helpful!

They wont fall right out, but they'll back out of the trans about 1/4" and wont catch in the splined differential. If the inner joint wasn't right up against the seal it wasn't seated. I've seen this happen a lot, and honestly this sounds exactly like what happened to you.

Hi thanks a lot for this reply you were bang on, I ve reassembled everything including the driveshaft and I didn't have it seated correctly before, can't believe I stripped it all down and re assembled it when all it needed was the driveshaft pushing in 1/4 inch!
A 2 min job instead of 6 hours!
Oh well you live any learn!

Cheers
