Default melted shift **** - can't figure out which part I need

Okay, so I was unfortunate in that the tint installers let their heat lamp fall and melt the top of my **** before they noticed... So, now I'm looking to replace it with the same **** and not some knock-off.

See the image attached.

I'm unsure which **** to buy. I guess it's kinda leather-like on top, but to me it's more plastic.

Majestic Honda has two part numbers listed: 54131-SDC-A82 or 54131-SDA-A82.

http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/...+LEVER+%281%29

http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/...+LEVER+%282%29

Those same part numbers show varying results from GeniuneHondaParts.

http://www.genuinehondaparts.com/par...t=Shift%20knob

Any advice on which I need to be ordering? I'd like to get the order placed ASAP so it goes out tomorrow. These places aren't open over the weekend and I assume an order placed mid-day tomorrow won't go out until the following day.

Thanks for any help!

Have tried the dealership and giving them your vin so they can match the part exactly? That would be the best bet and save you the most time.

Well, they are closed. I sent my VIN to both websites in hopes of a fast response tomorrow morning -and- I intend to call them tomorrow on my lunch break if I don't figure it out tonight.

Fun times!

Go to a site like Bernardi Honda Parts and enter your VIN.

Just curious, what trim level and how many 6 cylinders is your car?

The majestic site has a spot on the search engine where you can input the VIN. It's on the far right: http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/...artsSearch.jsp

@tech 8: I went to the site and I am not having much luck... I'm not seeing the part by putting in the VIN. Search option 4 has a spot to choose between Black and Charcoal/Black interiors... It's an LX 4 banger 5AT...

@lazlong: I did the VIN there. It comes up with the two options I cited above. There is a "SELECT LEVER (1)" and a "SELECT LEVER (2)" diagram. Both have the same part layout but with different part numbers as mentioned in the OP.

Was this car bought used?

When I look at some of the Honda sites, the shift ***** for the 2004 does not look like the shift **** you have.

The color code may not make a difference here; but, look at the color label on the door jamb and post the color code.

Based on the Bernardi site, right now, it looks like part number 54131-SDA-A82.

Ah, okay so I went out and snapped a photo of the sticker...

The bottom below the barcode has this:
SDA 7 AB5 NH700M A A

I assume SDA is what we're after?

EDIT: 54131-SDA-A82 I guess it is. Majestic is the cheapest w/ shipping. I'll order it up and hope for the best.

You got it in regards to the SDA for the part number for your car. The SDA is related to your model year car, not the color code.

The color codes show you have an exterior color NH700M - Alabaster Silver Metallic with an interior Type A - Black.

Majestic adds a $4.95 handling fee; so, when you're comparing prices, that should be factored in.

Yeah. They came out to be one of the two cheapest still. ~50 cents from being the cheapest. I'll give them that and hope they can get a part to Florida quicker from their North Eastern location as compared to the other one out of California.
